A workshop with Edgerton Guest Artist Sarah B. Mantell
This is a workshop about tricking yourself into writing. About generating the first bold, scary seeds of brand new work. We will dive into a wide variety of short writing exercises that will expand your ability to surprise yourself with new subjects and new forms. We鈥檒l focus on beginning the stories that feel to big or too personal to write. Writing is about collecting everything you find terrifying, beautiful, hilarious, heartbreaking, and hopeful in order to make something new鈥攕omething more your own. This workshop is designed to make that process less daunting and more fun. You鈥檒l leave the room with the beginnings of new projects and new tools to trick yourself into making the work you want to make.
